Provide, operate, and maintain Tally's expense splitting features

3. Information Sharing
We share your information only in the following circumstances:
With Group Members
Your name, expenses, and balance information are visible to members of groups you join. This is essential for the expense splitting functionality.
With Service Providers
We use trusted third-party services to operate Tally:
Supabase - Database hosting, user authentication, and file storage
RevenueCat - Subscription and payment processing
Resend - Transactional email delivery
Expo - Push notification delivery
These providers only access your data as necessary to perform their services and are bound by confidentiality obligations.

4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on Supabase cloud servers with encryption at rest and in transit. Receipt photos are stored in secure cloud storage with access limited to you and your group members.
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure authentication tokens, and Row Level Security on our database to ensure your data is protected.
5. Your Rights and Choices
You have control over your data:
Access and update your profile information anytime
Manage email notification preferences in Settings
Control push notifications through your device settings
Leave groups to remove your association with that group's data
Delete your account and all associated data permanently
To delete your account, go to Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, expenses, group memberships, and all associated data.
6. Device Permissions
Tally may request the following device permissions:
Camera - To photograph receipts for expense records
Photo Library - To attach existing photos as receipts
Notifications - To send expense and payment alerts
These permissions are optional and only used when you choose to use the related features. You can revoke permissions anytime in your device settings.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. When you delete your account, we immediately and permanently delete all your personal information, including your profile, expenses, group memberships, and uploaded photos.
8. Children's Privacy
Tally is not intended for users under 4 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 4. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of Tally after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
